Restless night = skipping school

Well, today I stayed home from school. It was nice, and not nice. Nice because I caught up on some sleep that didn't come to me very easily at night. I woke up drenched in sweat because our apartment is heated as if it were hell. It's not uncommon for it to be 80 or over in the winter. This is not by choice; we live in a renovated attic apartment in a double-block home, and all the thermostats are on the lower floors. We get stuck with all the extra heat that is pumped out through the radiators, and the heat that rises through the house.

Add to that a few cats that decided it was a night to get into things they are not supposed to get into, and you have a horrible night's worth of sleep. So I stayed home, napped this morning, started to do some catch-up reading, fell asleep again this afternoon, then went with Jillian to her sister's to do a quick two loads of laundry. By this time tonight, I'm caught up on my readings. This is definitely a good thing because tomorrow is a huge homework day: a paper due for Literary Criticsim on Thursday as well as more readings in Melville's Billy Budd, Sailor, a Psych test, and a decent amount of reading for Major British Writer's from Virginia Woolfe's Mrs. Dalloway.

In other semi-related news, our six-month old kitten, Merton, was neutered today. The vet then recommended taking him off his kitten food because he is already over nine pounds.
