Turkey and a (few) highballs

I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving day. Mine was pretty good, I must say. Good food, good time with the in-laws, and Jillian and I ended the evening hanging out with her sister Jennifer, our friends Janet and Jaime, and their friend Jeremy. He's visiting over the holiday after having spent something like the last 2 years backpacking all over the world. We didn't get into much talk about his travels, but we all just kind of hung out and chatted and enjoyed some adult beverages.

We're checking in on our friends' cat over the holiday weekend, and they graciously left us as a thank you a bottle of Jameson Irish Whiskey. At Janet's I was introduced to the highball, a drink consisting of whiskey and ginger ale. Oh my word, this is a great drink. Jill said she'd be the driver, so I indulged and had three. And a woodchuck to cap the evening. It was a nice, nice time. This afternoon we're getting together with our friends Mark and Chris for homemade pizza and a movie. What a great first half to the Thanksgiving Break!
