Why I Love Phil

So, I'm checking out Phil's blog, which I do on a daily basis, and I am supplied by my friend with yet another link to an article or essay that I am compelled to read. This is one reason why I love Phil's blog; it gives me interesting, thought-provoking pieces to go and check out instead of working on whatever school work is in front of me. Anyway, I read the critique he put a link up for today about anti-consumerism (if you're interested, check it out here), then I put a comment on his blog. Next thing I know, he has replied to my comment. I get the great idea that I should call him since we're both putzing around on the computer at the same time and have just traded comments. A move from the internet world to the cellular world; one step close to real communication?

We get a chance to chat for a bit, and I make a remark about how I go to his blog as a procrastination tool and really appreciate him for it. Now, after our phone call, I've hiked across campus to waste some time while my wife, Jillian, finishes up an exam. I log into my e-mail, and would you believe I received the following message from Phil:

Not to keep you from your school work more than I should.. but this an interview with two of my favorite public figures right now..

Jim wallis and stanley hauwerwass.

If you want more to read instead of doing what you should be doing.. check this out:

Thanks, Phil. Now I'm getting personal invitations from you via e-mail to distract me. I love you, man.
