Losing Appreciation of Snow Days
I think I'm losing my appreciation for snow days. Perhaps I'll regain my love for them once I start teaching, but right now I have the mindset that they kind of suck.
Last week I lost 2 out of the 5 days I was supposed to have observing the English classes at Scranton Prep. I may be able to make up that time the next 2 Fridays, but that means I lost my free Fridays, which I think I would have preferred to keep.
This week the University closed at 1 p.m. on Tuesday due to the snowy weather. I worked all morning, but missed out on 3 of my classes, and it was the first day for those classes! To make it worse, 2 of them are English classes: Mystical Writers and English (Teaching) Methods. I feel cheated. I also lost out on 2 hours of work that I won't get back.
The upside was bumming around the apartment with Jillian, which was good. We did some movie watching and napping and those are all great things. I'm just ready to get the semester under way.
I'm now going to be getting most of my workouts in after school, so I think I'm going to try changing my little postscript to each blog update. For those that cared, I did exercise over break: 4 days the week leading to Christmas, 3 days the week leading to the New Year, 2 days last week, and so far 2 days this week with tomorrow and Friday looking good as well. I am going to be making a plan for training for the triathlon in August over the next month. That will give me 6 months to train. I should be able to do more than finish it this year.
