Beautiful Spring Snow - photo from WNEP-TV's Noreen Clark
Yesterday brought about 6 inches of snow or more to the area. We're 3 days into Spring and get hit with one last snowstorm (we hope). Actually, it didn't annoy me too much. I had a decent time shoveling, Jill and I had a little snowball fight before getting in the car to go to our cleaning job, and the driving was slow but not too nerve wracking. Plus, when we pulled into Medico Industries (where we clean), I (accidentally) spun a 360 in their as-yet-not-plowed driveway. Those are fun under "controlled" circumstances. More than anything, the snow made everything really beautiful one last time. It was a very fat, heavy, sticky snow, and the trees became coated and somewhat weighed down. The snow looked very bright. It created a one night/one day springtime Winter Wonderland. And it will probably all melt off in the next day or two.
Tonight we're going to Elm Park United Methodist Church for a communal sacrificial meal followed by the celebration of the Last Supper. Tomorrow we're going back for a Good Friday tenebrae service. Easter Sunday we'll be there for sunrise service outside at 6:30, then back for the sanctuary service at 11. This will be immediately followed by the ringing of the bells in the church's bell tower for the first time in more than 12 years. Jill and I are both really looking forward to this weekend.
