A Busy Birthday

Yesterday I reached the age of 27. It was a really busy day. It started when I stayed up past midnight to celebrate (well, not really; I just got caught up working on our church's new website, which is now posted!). I think I went to bed at 2:15 a.m. and got up about 4 hours later. I spent the morning at my sister-in-law's house waiting for a car repair to be done, and did more work on the website. Then it was a rushed trip to Sheetz for some wrapz (mmmmm, wrapz) for myself and Jillian, who was waiting patiently at work for me to bring her food. After that pitstop it was straight to Marywood to take care of some school stuff, and more website and FOCCUS work (FOCCUS is our church's college ministry, which I am leading this year). A quick stop at the church 15 minutes before the offices closed, then a quick trip home to pack Jill's cleaning clothes before picking her up from work. We ate at Panera Bread Co. to celebrate my birthday, then it was off to the cleaning job. That was pleasantly interrupted for 15-20 minutes by a birthday call from Mom, Dad, and Makenzie. On the way home I returned a call from my brother, Richie, who was given a cell phone on the family plan before heading to Trinity for fall semester. We made a pit stop at my sister-in-law's so I could upload the new website from my fancy new USB flash drive (thanks, Jen and Troy!) because I received permission to make it public late in the afternoon. We topped off the night with a free drink at Northern Light Espresso Bar, and returned home to find a birthday card from Grandma Frank with a long letter filling me in on how my extended family is doing. It was a sweet letter. We managed to stay up a bit later while flipping through Eddie Bauer's women's fall catalog. I took a part-time job there and started this week, so Jill didn't hesitate to fill me in on things she would like with my employee discount!

That's a long paragraph. It's representative of my 27th birthday: a long, busy, hectic, productive, fun, rewarding, exciting, relaxing day. I'm back at work in the school's labs, so look for my updates to return to a more regular frequency.

Peace to you this day.

p.s.-In the midst of my busy day, I neglected to check Jillian's blog after she asked me to do so in the morning. She posted a really nice birthday message that I didn't see until this morning. Sorry, honey, and thank you. You fill my world with love and light.
