Art as Devotional: Georges Rouault

I've been trying to create a daily rhythm of prayer and devotion for myself. The links to the left in the Spiritual Formation category I've used off and on in the past; over the last week I've been using the Morning Prayers from the Northumbria Community as linked, but I read the Daily Lectionary readings instead of those from the NC. And in place of their daily meditation, I've been reading from All Saints: Daily Reflections on Saints, Prophets, and Witnesses for Our Time by Robert Ellsberg. I really recommend checking it out; it's a great book.

So, I didn't read today's saint until just a few moments ago, but after reading the entry on French artist Georges Rouault, I had to go and check Google Images to see some of his work. What I see so far I really like. This image is his Head of Christ. Check him out, and consider adding some art to your spiritual disciplines.
